What could be better than discovering the joy of collecting the series of bakelite hat pins, that were produced in the early days of bakelite production? There are a multitude of hat pins and this is one of the more unique ones....sporting a wonderful flying bird!

The bakelite is a rich cherry red color, with some slight marbling on the underside and has a gray enamel painted trim and ribbon. And there, right in the center is a delightful flying bird with a red breast, light gray-blue wings and a yellow tail. It is riveted into the hat and needs a little tightening.

The pin measures between 2 7/8 -3” in diameter and mounds, 1 ¼” high. It is in excellent condition with no chips, fleabites or cracks and guaranteed to be vintage bakelite. There is some minor paint wear along the hat edge.
