Behold the exquisite and oh so scarce tortoise shell chain link necklace. Although it has an existing natural nut pendant, this is just perfect for the antique locket or pendant your grandmother left for you.

The chain link necklace has 5/8”long elegant, feminine links. They culminate at the bottom with a like kind, three-sided scalloped link and more smaller oval links that is used to suspend a pendant or locket. It currently has a natural pendant, that, I believe is a nut. It has an embellished initial C. on the front. This addition caused the nut to crack but the condition is original.

The total length of the necklace including the existing pendant is a wonderful 40” long, so it hangs low on your body. It is 36” excluding the pendant and connecting links.

As typical with most tortoise pieces this one has a few worm bites and nothing greatly noticeable or in danger of cracking.

The chain necklace is 36” long by 1/2” wide. The chain is in excellent vintage condition, the nut pendant is in fair condition and can be replaced with a family heirloom.
